Set in 40 acres of beautiful gardens with a secluded grove, it is where Krishnamurti gave his public talks in England from 1969 to 1985.
The Oak Grove School e-mail: oakgrove@fishnet.net Founded by Krishnamurti in 1975, Oak Grove is an international school for 200 students aged 5 to 18, with some of the high school students boarding. Encircled by protective mountains, the 150-acre campus includes the grove of old live-oaks where Krishnamurti gave 6 decades of public talks.
Bal-Anand Founded in the 1950's in association with the Krishnamurti Foundation, Bal-Anand provides an after-school programme and pre-primary daycare for children from poor families. It is located in a rundown section of Bombay and operates from extremely modest facilities. Bhagirathi Valley School Founded in 1985 by the Krishnamurti Foundation India, this is a Garhwali-medium school for children aged 4 to 10. Located in the foothills of the Himalayas, the setting of the school is extraordinary. Rajghat Besant School e-mail: kfi/varanasi@dartmail.dartnet.com Founded by Krishnamurti in 1934, Rajghat is a residential, English-medium school with 400 students aged 5 to 16. It is located at the confluence of the Ganges and Varuna rivers and is set in beautiful grounds. It also has an associated Rural Primary School for a further 400 children. Rishi Valley School Founded by Krishanmurti in 1931, Rishi Valley is an English-medium school with 350 students aged 8 to 17, some of whom board. The valley lies between some of the oldest hills on earth. A few years ago The Rishi Valley Education Centre built a reservoir at one end of the valley which benefits not only the human inhabitants but also its flora and fauna. The Education Centre also oversees 18 small satellite schools within the valley. Sahyadri School Founded in 1996 by the Krishnamurti Foundation India, this is an English-medium school for over 150 students aged 9 to 14. The school has planted thousands of young trees since its inception to extend the lush forests from the plains below. The School-KFI-Madras Founded by Krishnamurti in 1973, this is an English-medium school for more than 330 local children of pre-school age to 17. It is located near the headquarters of the Krishnamurti Foundation India, in an area of trees in the heart of Madras. The 110-acre campus is a lush tapestry of forests, streams, fruit trees and playing fields. |
