Relevance.
The
purpose of the study groups is to explore, test and challenge your own and others' understanding of Krishnamurti's teaching. If your interest in Krishnamurti is only marginal or your purpose for being here is not to further your understanding of his works, keep your participation to a minimum as your threads are bound to dilute the focus of the forum and cause it to stray into general philosophy or overly personal discourse. While we try to give as much scope as possible in order not to hamper sincere inquiry, be vigilant as to the overall relevance of your posts to the purpose of the study group. If you wish to discuss other issues please do so by personal email exchange. By necessity, the last word on what is or is not relevant will rest with the administrators of these study groups.
Excerpts: Please refrain from routinely posting long extracts from third party sources (including Krishnamurti) unless it is for the express purpose of elucidating a specific point with regard to a conversation you are currently involved it.
Solcitation: Do not use the forum to promote websites, books, or other media unless specifically related to Krishnamurti.
Monopolization.
In the dialogue forums, limit the number of new threads you start to one or two per week. Also, limit the number of threads you are actively involved in at any given time.
Differences of Opinion.
Given the inherent limitation of this medium, present your views in a dialectic fashion only and avoid sentimentally charged or personally directed counter positioning. Once your interaction leaves the realm of dialogue and and enters that of debate, that is, it takes on a noticeable air of needing to convince the other of of the rightness of your point of view and the wrongness of theirs, you are asked to cease engagement with that particular person, at least until such time as a two-way conversation can be resumed.
Etiquette.
Do not use
coarse, crude and vulgar language.
Do not be routinely flippant, bellicose or deliberately provocative. Personal taunts or insults will also not be tolerated..
