Even if you think You can do it using discursive part of your mind, you start doing it with the some kind of system. For example: studying K, mantra, practice Zen. All these are kind of system which invanted your mind. When these practices are enough intense, there is becoming a sense of tiredness, helplessness of your mind. When it feels like this, immediately back to the plesure, where it can rest. So, what for doing it longer way?

So, what is cleaning now? When you are in the world of pleasure? There is cleaning itself some kind of belief, conviction that your mind will achieve happiness through something which this happiness release. And just this belief, conviction brings about desire.
All inventions of thought have this kind of impose for senses to feeling desire.
