Last week my wife and I were in Ojai. We stayed, as always, at the Lindley House next to Arya Vihara or what is now called the "Pepper Tree Retreat". The K library, which is Pine Cottage where K lived frequently and where he died, was being rented out. The library was closed and the Pepper Tree Retreat was rented out to the participants of some mother-baby seminar. After that event ended there was another seminar scheduled called "Wisdom Gathering" which was also not related to anything about K. Troy Sumrall, the new director of the KFA, and presumeably with the backing of the KFA Board has decided to temporarily suspend providing a place for people to come and study K's writings. Instead they are renting to anyone with a few bucks just to drum up some money. They are prostituting themselves and the sole purpose for which the KFA is suppose to exist. If there is not enough interest in what K said to support the Foundations then they should be shut down. It's not fair to people who send money to the Foundations for them to whore out the facilities to anyone with a few bucks and deny those who may have traveled a long way access to the facilities and to see where K lived and to study his works. Now you can argue that they need to do this because they need the money but that doesn't fly. The one purpose of the various Krishnamurti Foundations is to keep available the record of the talks, the books, all the writings of K. Not to keep the foundations going at any costs so that Troy Sumrall and others can keep their jobs. Sumrall should be immediatately fired as should any board member who approved this gross misuse of the K library. We all knew it was just a matter of time before the various K Foundations would be wholly corrupted but who knew it would be this soon after K's death? The question is, what happened to the invbestments that were supposed to secure the centre for the teaching? Well, 'intelligent' decisions were taken and still the lot went down with the economy! David, your reaction to your visit is passionate, to your credit. But have you taken the time to reflect and find out? Work is still being done in Ojai but the usual facilities have had to be commercialised. It seems to me that the whole existance of the place is called into question but let's see how things shake out. New books still need to be edited and the proliferation of the teaching has to be organised from some place. Better times may allow better allocation of facilities. There is a big crisis at present. We don't know how it will resolve. Good, you have a good heart! What are you waiting for? |

I've received inside information that their next revenue generating scheme is to sell little K bobble-head dolls with wispy white hair. |

And Paul knows because he has a really, really, good heart. Heck, Paul's heart is so god-dang good it makes other hearts look like metronomes. |

Let them do anything they like. As long as they make available all K's works in uninterpreted form on the net, it is more than enough and thus they will be doing the most yeomen service to mankind. Even K didn't ask for more !!! Unless Advanced, K's Teachings May Remain As Ineffective As of Now
