a note on my resolution of the late (and probably not very lamented) 'Pros and Cons of Quoting Krishnamurti' thread: after much contemplation, i decided to clean up the thread by deleting the off-topic and/or inflammatory messages ... but there were so few messages left after The Grand Purging that i opted to delete the entire thread instead. i meant no disrespect to anyone who participated in the thread. if you would like to resume discussion of krishnamurti quoting pros/cons, please let me know and i will happily recreate the thread. :-) |

here's a question that comes up from time to time for me; perhaps for you too? competition: is there any 'valid' (good, useful, appropriate, constructive, etc.) place for it in our lives? for example: golf. you love it, you play in a league, the goal of league play is for members of your team to beat members of the opposing team. competition is part of the equation. is this necessarily a 'bad' thing? or what about in the real world? might 'friendly rivalry' competition among medical research companies benefit the discovery/creation of life-saving drugs? |

Not really. But sport as a career is looks odd. Playing happily to beat another is different from playing seriously to ... Freedom from the known is Attention in the Unknown: Krishnamurti J |
