And words are easy, which is why I question the wisdom of taking a sentence K said and worshiping it as "Favorite Krishnamurti One-Liners". It really reduces what K said to a series of platitudes, and basically attempts to bypass the profundity of the wholeness of the teaching by attempting short-cuts, of which in fact there are none. Sorry Farha, this is not directed at you personally, but questions this whole thread/forum. (Which admittedly I did not have to join, but I looked for you and found you here after you contacted me privately.) :) Perhaps it is a starting point for some. But to me it reeks of picking and choosing the bits one likes and ignoring the rest, which let's face it, is what happened all through K's life - and beyond. |

the word is apology for difficulty, which is why i never question wisdom, begging the question: What is wisdom? iFavorite Krishnamurti One-Liner is when his friends asked him to bless their new home, he did a walk through, they thanked him, he asked:
iListen ringing voice true 3rd ear echo heard
Why is a transformation not a change?
while we're young
The starting point transcends the threshhold of time. unwary havoc wreak the matrix? scary! my friend, i ask you what do women want? iUnderstand the bit, the routine & the audience suspending disbelief, ignoring the rest, which let's face it, is what happened to JK's life - and beyond iTaste mountain
in my dream, JK was an illustrator sketching in a pad, i wanted to walk over to him, he waved, i thought he reminds me of my mother my excuse is that i just finished reading Boswell's London Journal 1762-3 which accounts for this style of reporting, at that time Prussia was fighting an alliance of Sweden to the north, France to the West, Austria Hungary to the South and Russia to the East, the war lasted 7 years at the end of it all the borders were the same *can be read as message Health care is everyone's job, not just in treating illness but in promoting healthy living. We must take personal responsibility, engaging our minds and hands in meaningful work - all essential components of healthy, secure lifestyles and communities. I find you quite severe Patricia, whereas you are always so ''smooth''. I think the one-liners are indeed a good starting point for many. All the posts show how inspiring is the one liner formula. True, there is something rock n' rollish about it; perhaps it is more appealing to younger people. Please don't be upset with them. I suggest you see one liners like reading poetry instead of a whole novel. K. said there are no roads to truth and in your member statement you hint on immediate understanding too. For me one liners does not necessarilly encourage laziness. One must search where the quote comes from, the context by which K. said it, what he actually ment in reference to other things he said and so on. It's like taking small bites of something really appealing but hard to digest. |
