As long as the 'self'' exists there can be no freedom from the known and one is caught in one's own conditioning.

Dear Professor Khera,
Your topic is heavily loaded with terms I cannot understand or fathom the significance or meaning of them Would you care to explain the following terms:What is the "unknown" that burns the "known"? What is "self"? What is "fredom" and what is "one“s own conditioning"?Then perhaps, one may be able to proceed further. If they are terms used by J.Krishnamurti in different contexts, how they relate to each other as postulated above by you, is not very clear to my understanding.

Dear Srinivasan
You must have experienced/observed that you held certain beliefs, very dear to you, certain ideology, social/spirtual, which you would never let go. Then some body comes along talk to you and suddenly clarity dawns on you. Everything seems to be slipping from you. You even tried to resist that but inspite of you, you could not hold on to that which you cherished for so long. You have been unburdened, you feel certain amount of freedom, you feel you are breathing a fresh air All that is gone ws the burning of the known and how it happened was unknown to you. Here clarity wasthe unknown which you never sought. It came on its own terms and wiped away a lot from you.
I hope I have made myself fairly clear to you.

Dear Professor Khera, your quote/posting above is "Poetic" to me, Only a great "Guru" can accomplish such a feat of burning all that is known in me. I have not met him but they say Bhagwan Sri Ramna Maharshi was one of them. Episodes from his life talks about individuals experiencing such as you have described above so poetically.I have felt, listening to J.Krishnamrti talking in the public, all my doubts cleared and enormous Quietitude and no questiions to ask- like feelings,, a kind of peace. But he has not completely burned or eradicated the known in the little"me".(He has had tremendous effect on my life in general.)

Would the burning be the release of all prejudices, images, chains that bind in a particular direction, surrendering what once thought valuable? Is the Unknown absolute freedom from constrictions of the self? Is the Unknown the observer without center?

If you kindly look at my profile then you may observe that something similar happened to me after reading 'K's talks given in Europe. That is the reason I was able to write what I wrote.
Thanks

Dear Ruth
Prejudices and cmmitments are perhaps not so deeply grounded in the soil of the mind and therefore these may be more "inflamable" than images and other things that you mentioned. As regards Unknown I know nothing about it and anything I would say would be another product of thought.
Thanks

I did read your profile and it reminded me of what Krishnamurti had said would happened if we listened to his words, a mutation would occur in our brains. And another quote that a friend had shared that once we begin this journey, there is no turning back. Very glad to meet you here.

This is a very deep One-Liner! At first, it through me too for a loop, so I did something what I normally don't do....read the remarks before just responding first to "What Is."

So after the fact this is how I see it.

The self exist as long as we are human form. To overcome it requires effort and determination. When the human form no longer exist the self (ego) can not live. The self makes us think who we are. It is all tainted and conditioned thought.

There is a great power within ourselves which we can tap into which makes the self look like a knot-on-log! Of course the self is quite aware of this. The self deprives the heart of real, sincere Peace. In that quiet place, the secret chambers of your own heart (Freedom from conditioned thought, stress, uneasiness of mind, etc.) is where every perfect and loving thing packed away in safty ready for your very command. This is the only place where the Known exist and the Universe knows when your ready!

When reading K's teaching it is important to remember that he is speaking without the self. He saw the approaching conditing and overcame it. In some of his most highest spiritual moments with the masters he came down much like Moses and smashed the tablets of conditioning and control on the rocks. They were Holy.

It was quite clear the situation of our ridden planet. How blessed we are to have some rimnits of what he experienced(K's writings). Surly, he choose the best way for the masses. He was not caught in his own conditioning. He rather help a few who might have the eyes to see our condition. K has made some of the best and most awesome Observations of what Is in his and our time.

A honarable, great and nobel man

The burning of the known is the action of the unknown.

Consciousness is energy. Consciousness dominated by the known, that is by impressions from the past, is limited and thus vibrates at a low level. The energy of insight (the action of the unknown) being unconditioned vibrates at a far greater intensity. When high intensity energy meets a lower intensity energy, it wipes it away. The common analogy is to fire, e.g. - for He is like a refiner's fire, and who shall stand when He appeareth?

The benediction is where you are

Yes, the energy of the insight may be the energy (or action) of the unknown. One can not invite it. It is not at one's command. It brings clarity and in clarity all doubts disappear and one never ask questions.
