Description

The Study Centre is situated in an idyllic setting on the banks of the picturesque Diyawanna Lake about 12 kilometers from Colombo. The U-shaped brick building with a tall roof and well ventilated rooms was designed by Mr. Tilak Piyaratne, a renowned architect in Sri Lanka and remains cool even in the mid-day heat of Colombo. The mangroves on either side of the building provide the sylvan surroundings essential for a place of retreat.

The Study Centre consists of a main hall cum audio-visual room, library, seven guest rooms (single) with ensuite bathrooms, a kitchen, a dining hall and caretaker's quarters.

  From Etul Kotte, reach Beddagana Junction. Take a left turn. Proceed along Beddagana Road, Beddagana North Road and Duwa Road till you reach Diyawanna Lake. Proceed along the gravel bund of the lake and take the 2nd right turn to reach the Study Centre.
