Tremendously yes.I started reading K's teachings at the age of 16 or so. Then I had fear, anger, sexual desire or some thing or other all the time.I was also deeply discontented and was suffering badly without any apparent reason. Now I am 48 and I do not have anything in life! But I don't have any of those emotions. From time to time I have peace in my heart. This comes into being when I read something by K,listen to him or when I watch myself carefully.Basically with attention. But I do not know whether there will be fear and so on under different circumstances.I still read K daily to understand this deeply. As for relationship a lot of people are in conflict with me!! However I don't suffer by this.Sometimes it disturbs me so this means the self image is coming up still.
I never saw nature as anythig to look at even years after reading K. Now sometimes nature is so enchanting that I feel the whole meaning of life is just looking around.
Without having anything at all in life now I consider myself to be a very lucky human being although I have not been able to awaken this love K talked about or seen truth.I still thank my friend who introduced me to K whenever I meet him!
I am inquiring now to see whether this love can come in to being.
Very important I think. You can't be in a dialogue without listening intently and listening and observing are the key factors of understanding.
View all answers to this questionK talked about a way of living without conflict. It is 'THE WAY OF LIVING really'. It is the resolution to all the human maladies in the world.
View all answers to this questionNo.However I think I went through this.K says no effort. For his teaching is abolition of the self-so the will.So effort when exercised activates the will as effort is will.He also says 'How' implies a system which narrows and dulls the mind.
Now in a discussion we may object to words 'effort'and 'How' etc. However it is possible the word 'effort' is used to mean interest and 'How' just to inquire. If we don't go beyond the words and see the meaning-what is really meant, the context and so on and react to these words then it's a reaction due to having read K.Thus a conditioned response due to reading K.
So I remain vigilant to see whether I am using K's teachings without real understanding which then becomes a conditioned response.
Through observing myself-,reading K's books, dvds.Through dialogues also whenever the opportunity arises.
View all answers to this questionI think it is we who are not practical to anywhere near the level he was!
View all answers to this questionOh yes indeed. I think this teaching can give birth to a wholly different way of viewing life. This has tremendous meaning and impact to life I think. It must be lived.
View all answers to this questionI think this is the greatest favour a human being can do to another. Some showed great interest. One gentleman wanted to translate a book into turkish for his countryman. One or two managed to sort out their psychiatric problems.
View all answers to this questionI never try to reach any conclusion or find an answer.I just stay with it,observe and so on and let it unravel and throw clarity. Then there is certainty with regard to the issue and if there is uncertainty at any point I stay with that uncertainty. If you are ever affirmative in this you end up in a pitfall.
View all answers to this questionYou can sit to inquire or meet with a group to inquire. That needs planning. The inquiry itself cannot be organized. You can take up a topic but from there onwards it must be allowed to unravel.
View all answers to this questionIt is difficult for me to see what the future holds with regard to K's work.I noticed that in one school I visited in India they were already introducing awareness of breathing(anapana sathi)as meditation to students!Another place was having a vipassana course! So this is tremendous decline already. And Krishnamurti is taboo here with most people. However this doesn't mean things cannot change for the better. All it takes is a few people who sees the teachings.
View all answers to this questionIt is nearly impossible to say he was not exceptional considering the circumstances of his early years-the fact that he was chosen as a messiah and the building up of that organization Order Of The Star around him.The fact that he fulfilled the expectation which has a near zero probability of occurrence in the world even given a lengthy period of 1000years speaks for the fact that he was exceptional-at least the circumstances under which he underwent changes were highly exceptional to say the least.
The transformation he spoke of may not be universally accessible. However I may be wrong here. I think the transformation is only accessible to those who can understand the limits of thought-the effective purview of thought's skill, so to say. Also discontentment is vital which may be due to an innate sense that all things are transient. Both these conditions may be a question of intelligence.Further to this if the person :
1.pursues the teachings ceaselessly,
2.has not abused and does not abuse the body with drugs or intoxicants,
3.doesn't indulge in sex excessively,
4.takes the right food(i think sensitive qualities such as peace may not be possible if we take the incorrect food and the brain becomes hyper-active.The food must be conducive for the brain to calm down I presume.)
then to such a person this may be accessible as far as I can make out.
I have found pursuing K's teaching's and functioning freely in society difficult. However I don't think this to be a fault of the teachings. This must be so I think as the society is constructed on values the teachings seek to(I hope my expression is correct)dismantle.
The teachings seem to be very difficult to come upon. However I have found to-date in my inquiry every nuance of it to stand true.
