I am born in Federated Malay States .Now known as Malasia. The city is Penang. My parents are Sri Lankans. And my father was working in Malasia. We returned to Sri Lanka in 1941 because of the 2nd World war.I continued my studies in Sri Lanka and was working there till my 55th year as a technical officer.I* have four children. My family and I migrated to Canada in 1994. And we are in Canada since then.
The most important happening in my life is my encounter with J.Krishnamurti.This was in 1949 December. He came to Sri Lanka to give talks and hold discussions. All the news papers announced his visit and wrote articles about him comparing him with the Buddha and some saying that he was copying Buddha and so on.I was then in a group that conducted prayer meetingss this was by followers of Hindu Dharma. Two important members of this group were in the Krishnamurti reception commitee and they said one should not miss to attend K's talks and discussions. This made me curious to listen to him.At the first talk itself I saw K's points. And I was able to see the truth of his teachings.I began to attend all his talks and discssions.I bought the earlier talks given by him the previous years.I went on reading his books almost daily.I discussed always with my friends and officemates and my seniors about his teachings. Many of them were Buddhists. There was a catholic boy too He always liked to talk with me about my views. When I say any thing he sincerely says this is what Christ said too.
K came againto Sri Lanka in 1956.He gave Talks in Colombo but I was working faraway in another province.I took aweeks leave and came to Colombo. After this about seven times I took leave and went to Madras to listen to him.K gave private interviews to each one who came from Sri Lanka individually.I go prepared with many questions to discuss but at his presence I cannot ask anything.Last I heard
his talks was in 1980 when he came to Sri Lanka last. This is my story.
