Could you consider that the false "I' is in fact not false. It is a very real construct in your brain which you believe is trying to save you? Protect you; stabilize your life; elimainae fear; elimainate suffering..... If you consider it false you are into a conditioned state and trapped. Do not be trapped by "K's" teachings. If you take what he says as, I hate this term, gospel... you are stopped dead in your tacks. Just an observation. No one responded to my earlier post so I will leave you all here. |

I am new to the forum and obviously this thread. Please give me a couple of tries to get back to where I took a quick peek a few weeks ago. The video on the brain. My background is in behavioral medicine and linguistics. Having said that I can assure you I have been retired for many years and sicence marches on. Trying to stay a little connected I do read and try to apply my learnings and those few areas I feel I understand from the "Teachings" . May I suggest that all input other than direct response: I burn my finger and pull it back; is modified by memory and conditioning (I'm not quoting "K" here) this is fact. The way it (thought-brain) modifies the overload of data is by three (what we know now) methods. Deletion, distortion and generalization. If this seems to fit the thread I would like to continue. If not someone who is more into the topic let me know where I might go ( the obvious slur need not be stated) to feel useful to a discussion. Lastly, the map within the mind is not the territory only a poor representation. It is how we live. Thank you for your feedback and consideration. |
