I'm through with discussion but I don't know "how" it happened. It just finally dawned on me what a waste of time it is.

Eve,

<pre> Lets try the observation that discussion is a distraction from the action that ends the self. Or maybe discussion is sycronised self-perpetuation.

A "life transforming insight" can be so small as to escape notice or so big as to as to make one indistinguishable from one's former self, but so what? DIscussion is - as Eve said - "better than tv", so why pretend it's any more than entertainment? Even entertainment can bring about insight. Keep in mind, though, that insight only comes by chance and, as Louis Pasteur said, "Chance favors the prepared mind".

What in this world is not a waste of time for humans, other than provision for nutrition, shelter, bodily protection from harsh weather, some level of defense against life threatening encounters and some level of health consciousness? Also, for the species to survive some humans need to reproduce.

All other pursuits can be seen as a waste of time. A significantly large proportion of jobs in the world are a waste of time. The entire world of art and entertainment can be seen as a waste of time. Two-thirds of all "talking" is probably a waste of time. And yet, life presents humans with questions about the nature of life itself and the nature of the factors that limit that life to so much "waste". So, that's decided and there seems little point in discussing it any further. Unless, of course, life intervenes with questions that require relationship outside the self for full understanding, or not.

lots of luck and laughs to all of humanity

Those who became invincible through sacred heat, who went to the sun through sacred heat, who made sacred heat their glory- let him go away straight to them.

We are watching, not waiting, not expecting anything to happen but watching without end. JK
